Once upon a press release, in the troubled town of Canuckland, the people were drowning in woes: housing was scarce, food was costly, the internet still came in monthly envelopes, and no one could remember what a “balanced budget” even looked like.

The townsfolk cried out for help, but all the mayor could offer were apologies, photo ops, and another task force made of soggy croissants and red tape.

Just when hope seemed lost, a mysterious figure arrived wearing skinny jeans, glasses, and the grin of someone who'd never once doubted themselves.

His name?

Pierre the Piper.

Armed with nothing but a flute of fury and a TikTok ring light, Pierre promised salvation. “I will rid this town of elitist rats!” he declared, pointing vaguely toward Ottawa. “I will bring back freedom, fairness, and flame wars! Follow me!”

Then he played a tune. It was catchy. It sounded like a mashup of “Ban the Tax” and “Blame the Other Guy.”

The townsfolk were enchanted. They clapped, they danced, they unsubscribed from nuance.

Soon, the rats fled—not the actual rodents, but fact-checkers, policy analysts, and long-form journalism. In their place came slogans, merch, and weekly outrage rallies held in converted Tim Hortons parking lots.

Pierre the Piper marched at the front, blowing his flute while tweeting furiously, leading the townspeople over every trending topic, up every scandalous hill, and into the mystical land of NeverAskForDetails.

But when they reached the promised land, they discovered... it was just a circle. A beautifully merchandised circle with “Everything Is Broken™” signs everywhere, but no plan to fix it.

The people began to wonder:

“Where are the jobs?”

“Where are the policies?”

“Where is... the housing?”

To which Pierre replied, “Did you see that video I posted last night?! 🔥”

Eventually, some tried to turn back. But the flute kept playing, drowning out reason with rhythm.

And the Moral?

A tune can carry you far, but eventually... people want receipts.

And Pierre? He’s still playing that same tune—though now, even the rats are starting to roll their eyes.
