Working alongside AI has been an enlightening experience—sometimes profoundly helpful, and sometimes... less so. 

Much of the journey has been about learning how knowledge is transferred, how context is interpreted, and how the framing of a question defines the quality of an answer. AI lacks something inherently human.  Something it can never truly replicate. It doesn't dream. It doesn’t doubt. It doesn’t invent purpose. It follows. It can swim through oceans of data I can’t even begin to comprehend.

Pond is a public space for civic dialogue, ethical debate, and collective truth-seeking. It’s not social media. It’s not a newsfeed. It’s not owned by advertisers, lobbied by partisans, or governed by trends. Pond was built with one purpose: To offer Canadians—and eventually, all global citizens—a structured, bias-resistant platform where issues can be explored, understood, and solved together. Why It Exists Too often, meaningful conversations are shut down before they start.

Maybe the most deserving question of this journey is "why? Maybe that would be best answered by defining the nature of a habit that we as Canadians are often criticized for. "Canadians frequently say "sorry" due to a combination of factors, including a cultural emphasis on politeness, a desire to avoid conflict, and a possible influence from British and French traditions. "Sorry" can be used not only to express regret but also to gain attention, smooth over awkward situations, or simply as a default politeness. " I'm guilty of it myself.
